Hi, i'm Matt Mulligan

I founded Body Roots Coaching in 2015, after a decade exploring movement, health & wellness as an acrobat, dancer & actor. Since then I've become a certified stress, sleep & recovery coach, and an experienced movement coach

 

My intention has always been to empower people with scientifically-backed tools to feel happier, healthier and more resilient in body & mind.

Teaching Worldwide

I'm grateful to have had my events hosted across the world including Switzerland, Israel, Germany, Holland, Portugal, Ireland, Costa Rica & across the UK. I've also been on the staff team at Circomedia Academy of Physical Performance, Bristol.

Biography

Before my certification as a stress & sleep specialist, I spent 15 years weaving threads between practices of movement, meditation, dance & acrobatics. 

 

​Training chinese martial arts in my teenage years I then went on to study Philosophy at the University of Durham, followed by full-time professional training in acrobatics (Circomedia Circus School, UK) and later conservatoire training in contemporary dance (Northern School of Contemporary Dance, UK). From here I embarked on a touring career as a performer and teacher, which evolved slowly into the wellness work that I offer today.

I now live in Wiltshire, UK with my family, and I continue to share my work worldwide.

Qualifications

I hold a 1st class Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree in Philosophy from the University of Durham, including modules in history of the body, biomedical ethics & philosophy of science.

I hold a FdA (foundation) degree in Physical Performance from the University of Bath Spa, and a diploma in contemporary dance awarded by NSCD, Leeds, UK, totalling 3 years of full-time physical training.

I hold a professional certification in Stress Management, Sleep & Recovery from the prestigious Precision Nutrition Academy, Canada.
